New Movies Streaming

‘The Christophers' (2026)

Director Steven Soderbergh loves a good heist, whether it's pulled off by high rollers (“Ocean's 11â€) or blue collars (“Logan Luckyâ€). In his newest, a struggling artist but excellent forger (Michaela Coel) is hired by the estranged children of a once-famous painter (Ian McKellen) to make sure their inheritance (in the form of his paintings) is secure. McKellen is amusingly cranky, Coel is a magnetic cypher, and the way things unfold is truly a surprise.

How to watch: “The Christophers†is streaming on Hulu, starting Saturday.

‘Mother Mary' (2026)

Of the two Michaela Coel movies that begin streaming this week, this David Lowery effort is the considerably stranger one. Coel plays the former costume designer and BFF of a Lady Gaga-esque pop star (Anne Hathaway) who reaches out after 10 years of estrangement to commission a dress for her comeback tour. “Reaches out†might not be the right verb, actually, as Hathaway's Mother Mary seems convinced there is an otherworldly force drawing the pair together.

How to watch: “Mother Mary†is streaming on HBO Max.

‘Remember the Titans' (2000)

Hayden Panettiere, who died this week at the age of 36, was best known for her work on shows like “Heroes†and “Nashville.†But arguably her breakthrough role was playing Sheryl Yoast, the precocious daughter of coach Bill Yoast (Will Patton) in “Remember the Titans.†The inspirational drama was dominated by Denzel Washington's central performance, but Sheryl held her own in the film room and on the sidelines with the coaches.

How to watch: “Remember the Titans†is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

More new movies streaming: “Is God Is†(Prime Video); “Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter†(Prime Video); “We Are Pat†(Peacock)

New TV Shows Streaming

‘Conan O'Brien Must Go' Season 3

Even in his late-night days, Conan O'Brien has always loved to travel for remote segments. So it makes sense that the Brookline native now has an entire show allowing him to spread his schtick all over the globe. This season (which premieres at 9 p.m. on Aug. 21), O'Brien travels to India, Morocco, the Netherlands, and the Philippines, making friends and a fool of himself wherever he goes.

How to watch: “Conan O'Brien Must Go†Season 3 is streaming on HBO Max.

‘The Dynasty: UConn Huskies'

Patriots fans may not have enjoyed his work on the Robert Kraft-friendly “The Dynasty: New England Patriots,†but director Matthew Hamachek has embedded with another dominant New England sporting institution with “The Dynasty: UConn Huskies.†The three-part series features interviews with some of the greatest women's basketball players to suit up for fiery head coach Geno Auriemma, as well as extensive interviews with Geno himself.

How to watch: “The Dynasty: UConn Huskies†is streaming on Apple TV.

More new TV shows streaming: “Big City Greens†Season 5 (Disney+); “It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia†Season 18 (Hulu); “Outer Banks†Season 5 (Netflix); “The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only Live†(AMC+)
